Folic Acid (Vitamin B9)
Folate is the natural form of vitamin B9, which is water-soluble and found in many foods. It helps to form both DNA and RNA and plays a key role in breaking down homocysteine, a potentially harmful amino acid, which helps reduce the risk of heart disease. Folate is also vital to the production of healthy red blood cells and is critical during periods of rapid growth, like pregnancy and puberty.
